AQA A Individual Differences - Defining abnormality workbook by Melanie

This is a revised version of the booklet I uploaded earlier in the week.  I've found out how to make it one PDF file instead of lots of individual Word files.

The workbook is based on the Cardwell textbook, and also from ideas that I've picked up from this site.  Thank you to anyone whose work I've made use of. It includes basic information, summary pages, worksheets, a crossword and some sample exam questions and advice.  I hope it will be of use to someone.

I am a new teacher so am really hoping those with more experience will give me some feedback on this, before I make similar workbooks for explanations and treatments.  Have I included everything needed for the new spec, etc?  Thanks x

Thanks for all of your comments, I really appreciate it. Have started using this with my classes now, and it seems to be going down well... only problem was I didn't add page numbers, so have just got the students to write their own on before we start using them. Mo... I've just seen the January exam paper and the 12 mark question is on defintions. Might mean it doesn't come up in June, but who knows???

This is really great, thank you, one thing, you've got a section where the students write in their description os social norms, an example and then a strength, the students are only expected to know limitations aren't they not strengths (for definitions)??

Hi Maria, as far as I understand it they are expected to be able to evaluate each definition, so strengths are relevant. Obviously, if the exam question asks for a limitation, then that's all they need to put in their answer, but the 12 mark question on the Jan paper asks them to discuss two or more definitions, so knowing the strengths will just give them a bit more ammunition to gain the 6 AO2 marks available. I think that's right anyway... perhaps someone with more experience can correct me if I'm wrong?

I first read the book myself and then gave it to the nsw writers in my company. When I asked for feedback, they all had really good comments and loved how the details were presented.
