Most of our students have already covered correlations in Maths, but may not see them as a psychologist sees them. This powerpoint covers correlations using Fozzy Bear, from the Muppets, and "facebook" in the hope of making it a bit more fun. There will also be an accompanying handout.

I've used this PowerPoints with students to get them interested in Correlation which is quite a dry topic in Psychology - Students really respond to the celebrity pictures and opens up interesting discussions between students. More importantly it ensures they get what positive and negative correlation is but with the last slide they have to plot their own graph as they may have to do in the exam.

Correlation workbook AS Edexcel research template

This workbook particularly supports weaker students. It helps students through the practical aspect of the psychodynamic approach so that they can do a correlation on parental strictness and tidiness. It includes Spearman's Rho, how to rank data 'the easy way', as well as a gap fill write up for the research and supported evaluation. Could be easily adapted to use with other syllabuses.

Template gave to students when practising procedure writing to encourage them to include all details needed to replicate but also how to evaluate in detail - i.e. linking all points specifically to research example given. Good for G541.

In this (humorous) video, I show how the results from a fictional survey on how job satisfaction "causes" productivity could be interpreted in a variety of ways by different people.
