I've used this sheet (updated it again!)for 3 years. It outlines the activities that students can usefully do to help themselves to make progress in Psychology. It's all stuff that we each do. I refer to it every week, and ask students how they're going with various of them. It was designed to promote student responsibility. I get them to put it at the front of their folders. It's also useful for Parents' Eves, to remind students what they should be doing, and to get parents on board!

This is a handout for the first one or two lessons of year 12. It is made specifically for WJEC, but cut be adapted for other exam boards. Basically it goes through my expectations and the students' responsibilities during the course, as well as an outline of how year 12 will work. There is also a general introduction to the subject of psychology, and a page on plagiarism (which I had a bit of a problem with last year).

Useful power point for the very first lesson of A level or GCSE psychology, or for an open day to show students what psychology is. It combats some common misconceptions about psychology, and hopefully whets the appetite for students who might want to learn more!

Professor Paul Bloom welcomes students and presents the course as a comprehensive introduction to the study of the human mind. Course readings and requirements are discussed. The five main branches of psychology are presented: neuroscience, which is a study of the mind by looking at the brain; developmental, which focuses on how people grow and learn; cognitive, which refers to the computational approach to studying the mind; social, which studies how people interact; and clinical, which
