Complete the statement. print the sheet and cut them up give one to each student they complete the statement and then they read the statements in order. you end up with a complete summary of the explanations of attachment and a description of the different types of attachment and everybody is involved! differentiation by difficulty of the gaps to fill.

Chop the the first two pages of statements and give out to pupils in pairs and get them to complete the sentences. Give each pupil one of the buzz words and tell them that at some point in the ensuing dicussion they have to make a relevant point inserting their buzz word (at will) in context.

There are 13 phrases that can be replaced with key words for research methods.  My students often find the jargon difficult.  Initially intended as a starter it took about 20 minutes! I've added the key words at the bottom but I wouldn't give any hints for more able students
