This is a number of tasks that students could undertake in order to carry out independent learning. I ask them all to choose one of the tasks and each week an individual or group presents their findings. The students get enthusiastic about learning because they have a choice over what they investigate. Works really well with the higher ability students.

Photocopy enough sets for one set between two, cut them out, laminate them, cut them out again and you have a game of taboo. One person describes the top phrase WITHOUT using the words or phrases underneath. You can, of course, delete everything and put your own stuff in! There's a bit of A2 Sports Psychology among the cards too.  Biss

I tend to use tesco photo online shop as they are very reasonable and produce an excellent quality poster which look great in the classroom. The poster gives your students some hints, tips, prompts and suggestions to guide them when evaluating theories in psychology.

This is a second tool to help students who feel a bit exposed when it comes to 'pulling on the thinking cap'.  It's an idea from Matt Jarvis who in his book gives permission for this grid to be reproduced for teaching purposes.
