Mandy Wood @ resourcd

I have taught psychology since 1998 and am a little startled that makes me sound archaic. I have also worked as a psychologist working with children who have down syndrome and their families/practitioners etc. I currently teach Edexcel A level and International Baccalaureate Psychology at Portsmouth Grammar School, on the South Coast, UK.

Uploaded a file called Evaluating theories; the TEACUP model

Looking forward to introducing the teacup model of evaluation to the students, thank you to John Crane - although I have changed some of the words a little from his original acronym to fit better with my teaching. Made this poster for the classroom wall, with a little help from reprographics with the colour, thanks Lorraine! Maybe we will now a "History of Psychology Tea Party" instead of a cocktail party! :)

Commented on Edexcel 2015 Use of animals in research (reference to 1986 act and BPS)

A homework activity for the use of animals in research (Learning Theories). File contains h/w sheet and BPS guidelines which include reference to 1986 Scietific Procedures Act and Home Office guidlelines. Can be used as a flipped h/w, I intend to set the homework at the start of the unit and then debate the ethics of using animals after teaching conditioning. (Scenario is based on Olds and Milner)
