Commented on Exam practice - make the link

Following Paper 1 I created this for students to use to see if they could link sections of topics together on A3 - whether you start from across or down is the start of the link. It proved quite useful and hopefully developed their analysis skills.

Uploaded a file called Explanations for Divorce

A word document outlining the explanations for increased divorce rates. I am giving each pair/small group one explanation and asking them to produce a mini teaching tool for the rest of the class. My rule is that the tool cannot use more than 15 words - they have to draw the rest! Then I get the rest of the class to guess the explanation and interpret the main ideas using the diagrams, followed by a presentation by the pair. I use sugar paper, but actually my tables can be drawn on using board pens, which the kids LOVE!

Uploaded a file called Mid year review - feedback sheets for students

I got my students to complete this document mid way through the year, asking them to reflect on their revision, their knowledge of the topics, weak/stronger areas etc. I used this to help focus intervention/revision lessons. Was also a good opportunity to get student to reflect on their current working grade, how much work they are actually doing and what the requirements are for university (wake up call!)

Commented on Beliefs in Society Interactive Revision Powerpoint

This is a fully hyperlinked, interactive powerpoint which covers the entire beliefs in society topic for new spec A level Paper 2 (AQA)I have previously uploaded versions of this for education and families, which people seem to have liked quite a lot. This year's students have nagged ,me to make one for beliefs so here it is!You can give this to your students to work through independently, or use it as a lesson resources in your own revision lessons. It works best if you open it as a slideshow and then use the boxes/arrows to navigate to the sections you want to focus on.I hope you and your students find it useful!Kelly
