Commented on Paper 1 memory skills and content

Hi , this is following on from my social influence skills and content document. It guides me on what I need to cover and what students should be able to do. To go with the Flanagan green hair book as I find it easier to follow with the right amount of detail.thanks

Commented on Approaches summer project for year 11

I have created a booklet that will be sent home to each year 11 students who have opted to take psychology next year. My idea is to start the year with the approaches section and the homework task involves students finding out a little about the approaches that they will be studying in their first few weeks of psychology. It is a trial, so I am not sure how well it will work as we don't usually set a summer task. If anyone has any suggestions for improving the layout, or indeed anything to do with the task, then please let me know :)

Commented on PSYA3 essay planning pack - relationships, biological rhythms and sleep, aggression

Here is a revision pack I use with my students to create essay plans for all the potential  essays on the PSYA3 paper. We do relationships, biological rhythms and sleep and aggression, but you could adapt for any of the topics. The idea is that they fill in AO1 material in the ladder in the middle, and then possible evaluation points around the edges using the MRI structure (M = Make a point, R = Research/reasons, I = Implications including links back to question). They then use these to answer any question on the topic, selecting more or less information depending on marks available. I also have these for stress, abnormality and social influence for the PSYA2 paper.

Commented on AQA A Attachments exam Qs with 'model' answers and tips

AQA A. PSYA1. Attachments. I originally used the questions as part of a 'mock' exam - but then wrote the model answers to give my students an idea about how to access the higher bands/marks. Their knowledge and understanding of the material is good - but they keep writing 'accurate' answers, without enough detail.
